Painting 101 with Fusion Mineral Paint

Join us for a hands-on introduction to painting with Fusion Mineral Paint. This workshop is designed to teach you the essential techniques for achieving professional, long-lasting results on furniture and home décor pieces.

During this two-hour session, participants will learn how to:

  • Prepare a surface for painting, including cleaning and light sanding.

  • Apply Fusion Mineral Paint for smooth, even coverage and lasting durability.

  • Finish and maintain a painted piece to preserve its beauty over time.

Each participant will receive:

  • One pint of Fusion Mineral Paint in their choice of color.

  • One workshop brush.

  • One sanding block.

Please bring your own piece to paint, no larger than a standard kitchen chair—something you can easily carry into the shop.

Cost: $50 per person
Duration: Approximately 2 hours

By the end of this workshop, you’ll have the confidence and skills to refinish and refresh your own pieces at home using Fusion Mineral Paint.

Amy Barakos is the co-owner of Hues of the Hill Country and The Sated Sheep, both located in the heart of Dripping Springs, Texas. Her creative journey began more than seven years ago while working at — and later owning — The Rural Home, where she discovered her love for Fusion Mineral Paint and the beauty of transforming old furniture into fresh, unique statement pieces.

Though never formally trained in design, Amy’s natural eye for color, texture, and detail has shaped her distinctive style and earned her a devoted following of students and customers. She’s passionate about helping others discover their own creativity, guiding them with encouragement and practical techniques to achieve results they’re proud of.

Originally from the state that starts with a “C” and ends in an “A,” Amy has called Dripping Springs home for over eight years, where she enjoys a low-key life filled with love, faith, travel, gardening, and time spent with her family and friends.
